Prints of a Curious Kind

Hello Again!

I have seen a lot of  mixed prints and patterns trend looks. From models like Cara Delevingne to actresses like Emma Stone. Also, this trend is in a bunch of designers collections. This trend can range from any season and any colors. Either from bold vibrant prints to dust, dark, soft color patterns. It is such a fun trend that you cannot help but admire it!

So I decided to jump on the bandwagon and try the mixed patterns/prints myself. I know at first mixing prints and prints can be intimidating at first, but once you find the right prints..It will look you are a walk piece of artwork.

Some things to keep in mind when you are trying to make an outfit out of prints are:

1. Color is key– It is great to have one main color to make the outfit bold and then bring out the different prints.

2. Balance– Try to balance out the prints from shirts, shorts, and more. Do not make it overwhelming and create a harmony throughout the outfit.

3. Neutral- Use neutral colors like black, creme, white, and beige as a solid color and then use a little print if you want to be subtle.

Here is my view of mixing prints and patterns. I did a tribal romper with a bold coral color to be its main color. Then I did a “dreamcatcher”  beige and tan pattern top over the romper. Making the illusion that I am wearing separates like shorts and a top.  This is all from Urban Outfitters! You can find great tribal and different prints from Urban! Plus, Urban Outfitters is such a chic and free flow retail store, that I am sure you will find great clothing to mix and match. Then I matched with white gladiator sandals with brass studs on them.
