Pitchfork’s Finest Indie’s Star

Katie Crutchfield is the singer and writer of the solo project Waxahatchee. This Brooklyn native sings alternative folk music. Her music is very catchy and calming at the same time. Also, the 24-year old sounds like she is straight from the 70s.

In 2012 was when one of her first songs “Be Good” was on National Public Radio ,and her music gain popularity from there.

This girl is a triple threat! She sings, writes, and strums all by herself. She is also performing at the Pitchfork festival in Chicago this weekend.

*Pitchfork is a smaller version of  the Lollapolooza festival in Chicago. It is a three day indie festival with music featuring genres from Rock, Alternative, and Punk.

After listening to her album, you will be singing along while feeling like you are in the 70s.

Here  is her live at the NPR Music Concert performing all of her songs.
